Day Trip from Buenos Aires to Montevideo
Taking a day trip from Buenos Aires to Montevideo is a popular activity for people visiting Argentina.
Day trips from Argentina to Uruguay are easy to do, and simple to arrange. Regular ferries to Montevideo are run by a company called Buquebus. They depart from Puerto Madero in Buenos Aires, and all you have to do is show up, buy a ticket, and hop on board.
When planning your day trip from Buenos Aires to Montevideo, there are several key things to keep in mind. First, there is a one hour time difference between the two countries, so be sure to set your watch accordingly.
Second, given that the ferry crosses international lines, make sure to bring your passport with you. Keep it in a money wallet or your front pocket when in Montevideo to make sure it doesn’t get lost or stolen while you are visiting Uruguay.
Third, make sure to take an early enough ferry from Argentina that you have ample time to explore all that the capital of Uruguay has to offer. If you’re not a morning person, an overnight trip is a good alternative to a day trip from Buenos Aires to Montevideo.
